Getting Fit: A challenge for beginner runners or those of you who want to start running.

Week 1: Run one minute. Walk 90 seconds. Repeat eight times. Do three times a week.

Week 2: Run two minutes. Walk one minute. Repeat seven times. Do three times a week.

Week 3: Run three minutes. Walk one minute. Repeat six times. Do three times a week.

Week 4: Run five minutes. Walk two minutes. Repeat four times. Do three times a week.

Week 5: Run eight minutes. Walk two minutes. Repeat three times. Do three times a week.

Week 6: Run twelve minutes. Walk one minute. Repeat three times. Do three times a week.

Week 7: Run fifteen minutes. Walk one minute. Run fifteen minutes. Do three times a week.

Week 8: Run thirty minutes continuously.

Okay seriously noting this for myself. I am doing this when I get back to the gym in a week and a half or so. Yes please!

I personally have been seriously looking into getting a membership but I also feel they are ridiculously overpriced. you could always work out at home.

Yeah, that’s what I’ve been doing for the past 7 months, and I’m getting to the point where it’s just so repetitive. I’ve got the 30 Day Shred which is great for a quick little 20 minute workout and I also run but I’m getting a little bored if I’m honest and with a gym membership I could go to classes like spinning which would be different. I’m just going to research a little more now, thanks! :)

Is a gym membership worth it?

I really would like to start going to my local gym but there are a few things holding me back:

  1. Embarrassment- I’m still quite fat and not that fit. I’m scared that they’ll be lots of healthy, fit people wondering what someone like me is doing there.
  2. The cost- it’s pretty expensive for a student who hasn’t got a job because my closest gym only allows members. :/
  3. Will I actually go? I’m craving a treadmill and gym equipment but will the novelty of it wear off?

What are your views on a gym membership?

Can someone tell me to get up and workout?
